Contest Entry…

Since Fanboy’s tone throughout the book is so intimate and confessional, it makes little sense that he would withhold this information if it were something as insignificant as a computer or a comic book. My theory is that, in Fanboy’s mind, there really is no third thing- he only says there is a mystery because he wants our attention and our interest. Fanboy is so wrapped up in his own inferiority complex that he feels he must lead us on to get us interested in his pathetic life. Thus, we the readers can consider his “third thing” to be attention.
