• From the book...

When Mom first told me that she was pregnant, I thought I'd puke.... A week or so later, I e-mailed Planned Parenthood and had them send a bunch of brochures about abortion to our address. That didn't go over very well.

Captain America

Okay, Fanboy, I know Captain America’s not the top of your list.

I’m just here to tell you why you’re wrong.

Yeah, that’s right. You’re wrong.

After at least a couple years of false starts, crappy stories and new number ones (at least three times since I’ve been collecting), this current series is just amazing. Just like on Daredevil, Ed Brubaker is writing a great story. Unlike on Daredevil, he’s not following a great long arc by anyone.

He’s done the impossible: He brought back Bucky and it didn’t suck (seriously, I didn’t even know that was legal). With some really moody cool art by Steve Epting, the series is beautifully done, but it’s not all flashy. There’s really a story here. And it’s big. The Red Skull’s daughter, Crossbones, a malfunctioning and weaker version of the cosmic cube (I haven’t read the original stories — can someone point them out to me?) and maybe the Red Skull (though I just think Kronas is crazy)… this series is packed!

Give it a read, then see if it doesn’t change your mind.
