Teen Book Festival 2007
Barry attended the Teen Book Festival in Fairport, NY on Saturday, March 31. The event was a huge success, with hundreds of teens and their families turning out for the chance to meet eleven YA authors, including heavyweights like Tamora Pierce and Lauren Myracle.
Barry gave a presentation titled “Geekery: An Analysis,” which looks at the current state of geekdom and also looks at geeks throughout history.
The volunteers who made the event possible — led by the astonishing and tireless Stephanie Squicciarini — were just phenomenal. It would have been impossible for them to have been nicer or better prepared. These people knew what they were doing!
Pictures from the event, along with Barry’s commentary, are available here, of course! Click on any of the thumbnails below to visit the gallery.
